This Pine Tekoteko is ideal as a Trophy, Presentation Piece or as a Souvenir of New Zealand.
It has Carving on the Front with Inlaid Paua Shell Eyes and is Plain on the Back.

These figures were freestanding figures that stood on top of carved meeting houses. Most of these figures had a stance that represented a position in a haka, or a fighting stance, with a weapon. The purpose of the teko teko was to overlook the forecourt in front of a carved house and challenge any visitors to the tribe. If the visitors were deemed to be friendly, teko teko would then offer protection.

It’s a absolutely beautiful piece loved being able to get a plaque with a personal message or name and date carved into it. I got mine and my partners name and our anniversary date engraved and cried when I received it. Thank you so much ????
