Carved Wooden Waka Stern on Base

This beautiful Carved Waka Stern is Made in New Zealand from sustainably harvested Tulipwood and would be ideal for a Corporate Gift, Trophy, Souvenir of New Zealand and would also make a great alternative to the traditional 21st Key.

It measures approx 37cm Tall and the Base is 19.5cm Wide (Left to Right) x 13.5cm Long (Front to Back)

It is carved on the both sides with inlaid Paua Shell.

Traditionally, spiders were said to have carved the stern and prow of the first waka. That is why the web-like spiral form (known as mata kupenga) features so prominently on the stern and prow of many canoes.
