The Waka Paddle measures approx 60cm Long and is Carved on the Front with Inlaid Paua Shell Eyes and is Plain/Smooth on the Back.
The Stand measures 62cm Long x 7cm Wide x 3.5cm High.
The Paddle has an Un-Polished Finish and the Stand has a Polished Finish.
It is Carved from New Zealand Pine.

The paddle or hoe was the means of propulsion for the Maori waka (canoe). While the hoe was primarily a paddle, it also doubled as a weapon when the need arose. Carved paddles were the property of the chief and were highly valued.
