This beautiful Wahaika is Made in New Zealand from sustainably harvested Tulipwood and makes an impressive alternative to the traditional 21st Key.
It has a ’21’ Carved into the Front of the Wahaika there is also inlaid Paua Shell.

The Wahaika measures approx 46cm Long and the Base measures 50cm Long by 14.5cm Wide by 4.5cm High (not including holders).
This is ceremonial and practical. Waha-ika means the mouth of the fish. If you look at the shape it looks like the shape of a whales’ lower jaw bone. Many Waha-ika have a small figure carved on the side. This figure would be a guardian to the owner and would often be a venerated ancestor.
