Hand-Carved from Mahogany Wood

It has Carved detailing on both sides.

It measures approx 24cm Long (not including String), it measures approx 148cm Long from Tip to End of Round Holder (Including String)

The Purerehua is a Maori Wind Instrument. When twirled vigorously in the air above the head the over all sound is similar to that of insects or bird wings. Traditionally it was used to summon rain to grow crops, to heal or to keep bad spirits away. It is an item with a long history in many different cultures.
