Te Hītori o te Tūī
The tūī is one of Aotearoa’s most distinctive native birds — known for its iridescent plumage, white throat tuft, and rich, varied song. Found only in New Zealand, it belongs to the honeyeater family and feeds mainly on nectar from native flowers such as kōwhai, flax, pōhutukawa and rātā, helping pollinate the landscapes it moves through.
